Ralph and Ann Redman recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Ralph Redman and Ann Esquibel met on his 18th birthday in front of the former Trail Restaurant on 16th Street in Cheyenne. Ralph had just arrived in Cheyenne from Christmas leave in his hometown of Charlestown, Massachusetts, and was returning to his assignment at FE Warren Air Force Base. They were introduced by a mutual friend.
The couple married Aug. 10, 1957, at the Catholic Church on Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
They were married after Ralph’s tour of duty in Japan. They have lived in Fayetteville; Greenville, South Carolina; Limestone, Maine; High Wycome in England; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma and Aviano, Italy. While Ralph was in Vietnam, Ann moved to Cheyenne. After his retirement, they made Cheyenne their permanent home.
Ralph is retired from the U.S. Air Force and the state of Wyoming’s Department of Transportation.
Ann is retired from the state of Wyoming’s Department of Commerce. She also worked in the State Planning office under Gov. Herschler and Gov. Sullivan.
The two are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Ralph is a member of Knights of Columbus. Ann is a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Guild, Laramie County Community College Foundation, Poder Academy Board, Hispanic Organization for Progress and Education, USS Wyoming Board and Wyoming Latina Youth Conference.
They have four children: Steven Redman, Robert Redman, Scott Redman and Michael Redman, all of Cheyenne. They have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The couple celebrated their anniversary by taking a baseball tour, visiting St. Louis, Missouri, to see the Cardinals, Chicago to see the Cubs and White Sox, Milwaukee, Wisconsin to see the Brewers and Minneapolis to see the Minnesota Twins.
