Many of Wyoming’s existing wind projects have continued as planned through the coronavirus pandemic, and though taking on new developments brings uncertainty, even oil and gas companies are showing a burgeoning interest in the industry.

“Most (existing) projects are going basically as planned, and have been doing pretty well,” said Sarah Fitz-Gerald, chief strategy officer with the Wyoming Business Council. “What COVID-19 has done is it has introduced uncertainty when it comes to future projects. But I think that this is the kind of impact (that will be felt) not only in wind, but the economy as a whole.”
