JACKSON – In the mountain valley of Jackson Hole, an entrepreneur is spinning up his blades after receiving the Federal Aviation Administration’s carte blanche for operating scenic helicopter tours from the Jackson Hole Airport. However, the community has cited everything from safety to noise to wildlife concerns as reasons to say “heli-no” to the operation.

Entrepreneur Tony Chambers, owner of Wind River Air, has spent the past two years jumping through hoops to begin flying his helicopter out of the Jackson Hole Airport for scenic flights. A resident of Hoback Junction, a dot on the map 13 miles from Jackson and 67 miles from Pinedale where his helicopter is hangered, Chambers said he wanted to bring helicopter tours to Jackson while being respectful of community concerns.
