Snowmobiling near the Continental Divide Trail, Shoshone National Forest, WY.SnoWest's Western Guide to Snowmobiling has once again listed Wyoming's trails among the best in the West. Four of the state's trails made the top ten, while the 608-mile Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail (running from Wyoming to Montana) came in at No. 3 this year.

Meanwhile Reuters listed Jackson Hole as the top destination for couples in which only one person skis, calling it the perfect "out West" setting, as well as an "ideal spot for the experienced skier and the novice who is only considering lessons."  Snowshoeing and snowmobiling tours, as well as the sleigh rides in the National Elk Refuge were listed as non-ski activities. Taos, N.M. was the only other U.S. destination in the top ten, and it came in at number eight.

A recent University of Wyoming study determined that the economic impact of snowmobiling in the state was more than $175 million per year.
