An important component of the Torch Award program pairs university business students with nominated businesses resulting in a student-written nomination packet that addresses the company's ethical practices in regard to leadership, communications, human resources, management practices and community involvement.
Students at the University of Wyoming, Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado learn real-world ethics by preparing award submissions on behalf of the nominated businesses. An independent panel of judges will meet in February to review the nominations with finalists announced in March.
University of Wyoming Alpha Kappa Psi Business Honor Society members have been working on nominations for:
• Basic Beginnings, Laramie
• Gluten Free Oats, Powell
• Medicine Bow Technologies Inc., Laramie
• Thomas Crawford Auto Inc., Casper
• Powder River Office Supply, Gillette
