Grand Targhee opens Nov. 23
The Tetons have been getting snow for the past few days, with the arrival of a winter storm perfectly aligned with opening day. Before the most recent storm, Targhee was reporting 73 inches of snow since mid-October. Opening weekend lift tickets will be $44 for adults, and if you bring two items to donate to the Teton Valley Food Bank, you get $10 off.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opens Nov. 24
Single day lift tickets for adults are $68 from Nov. 24 through Dec. 7, and you can save $3 if you get them online. New features include the high speed quad lift accessing the intermediate runs.
Meadowlark Ski Lodge opens Nov. 24
This resort, located 26 miles east of Ten Sleep, offers two lifts and 14 runs on 300 acres with lift tickets for adults at $42.
Sleeping Giant opening postponed to Nov. 25 (depending on snow conditions)
This Sleeping Giant woke in 2009, after a five-year sleep, thanks to the support of the Cody community. Donations to Yellowstone Recreations LLC are still appreciated, while lift tickets for adults cost $30.
White Pine opens Dec. 1
Just opening is news at White Pine, which was shuttered last year. This resort also owes its existence to community support, in this case, Citizens to Save White Pine. A day's lift ticket for an adult costs $39.
Snowy Range Ski Area opens Dec. 1
This ski area located near Centennial offers five lifts and 27 trails. Lift tickets cost $43 for adults, and if you're spry enough to ski after age 70 you ski free!
Snow King opens Dec. 8 (based on conditions)
Jackson's town hill offers a world-class descent of 1,571 feet; one triple chair, two double chairs, a surface tow and a tubing tow. Plus, they offer night skiing on 110 of their 300 acres of groomed terrain. Full day lift tickets for adults are $42, and half day (after 1 p.m.) tickets are $32.
Hogadon opens 'when conditions are right"
Casper's ski area offers season passes starting on Oct. 1, but this year the snow isn't cooperating. When the area does open, lift tickets are $40 for adults. Skiers over 70 or under age 5 ski free.
