Designed to share facts about the use of hydraulic fracturing in oil and natural gas development in Wyoming, "Hydraulic Fracturing: A Wyoming Energy Forum" is scheduled Sept. 26-27 in Laramie at the UW Conference Center inside the Hilton Garden Inn, 2229 E. Grand Ave.
The forum will include presentations geared to educate participants on the technical aspects of the fracturing process, including the purpose, technology, applications and results, and existing state and federal regulations relevant to hydraulic fracturing in Wyoming.
It also will focus on potential environmental impacts associated with fracturing and activities directly related to its deployment; safety and environmental-best management practices used during fracturing; and knowledge, data and technology gaps for future research.
