The grant expands an ethics program that the late cable magnate Bill Daniels helped found at UW and the School of Business at the University of Denver.
Under the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, UW and DU will help create a regional consortium of business schools that will collectively work on curriculum and community outreach.
Other universities involved in the effort include the University of Utah, University of Northern Colorado, University of New Mexico, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, New Mexico State University and Colorado State University.
Each university (UW and DU get extra grants) will receive $1.5 million over five years. Each institution must show progress in broadening the reach of ethics instruction for the funds to continue, year by year.
