CHEYENNE - In an effort to address the needs of Wyoming’s workforce and businesses, the Wyoming Workforce Development Council has announced three competitive grant opportunities.  Wyoming businesses, educational institutions and other eligible entities are encouraged to apply.  A total of $690,434 is available for distribution.

Requests for Proposals (RFPs) including details of submission guidelines have been posted on the Council’s Web site at www.wyowdc.org/projects/ outlining the opportunities. The three competitive grants are designed to support Industry Partnership Solutions, Alternative and Renewable Energy Training and Self-Sufficiency Training.

Jerimiah Rieman, administrator for the Workforce Development Council, encourages those interested to log on to the website for more information.

“In response to the Recovery Act, the Wyoming Workforce Development Council is releasing three requests for proposals,” Rieman said. “Those proposals will be accepted to support industry partnership solutions, to train and prepare workers for alternative and renewable energy field and to take economically disadvantaged individuals to self sufficiency.”  Rieman added, “The Council is excited about these proposals and feel that they fit with the council’s vision of a strong and growing economy in Wyoming with economically self-sufficient individuals.”

Proposals for these grants must be delivered to the procurement office located at 122 West 25th Street, Herschler Building, 2nd Floor East, Cheyenne, WY 82002 in a sealed envelope or package by 2 p.m. on Aug. 3. No exceptions.
